Step 1: Insert

CladMate WeatherBoard Clamp Step One

 

At approximately one-third of your weatherboards overall length from either end, place each CladMate’s blade under the bottom edge of the weatherboard and slide upward.

Step 2: Engage

CladMate WeatherBoard Clamp Step Two

 

Lift the handle for a snug fit. Don’t over tighten, as it can cause the clamp to pull away from the wall.

Step 3: Set

CladMate WeatherBoard Clamp Step Three

 

Carefully lower your next weatherboard into CladMate’s slots.

Step 4: Nail

WeatherBoard Clamp Step Four

 

Fix weatherboard as per manufacturer’s recommendations. Remove both CladMates and repeat steps 1 through 4 as you work upward to the top of the wall.

Huge time saver! My helper was able to install weatherboards on a scaffold by himself easier than if 2 people were up on the scaffold doing it together. I was able to stay on the ground and cut siding the entire job. My second man was free to help carry the heavy weatherboards to the cut bench and keep the job site clean. It was like purchasing a third helper for 1/100th of the price.

Must have for weatherboards!

So good, so worth it. It's like having 4 hands. Going up a ladder with a weatherboard, a nailer, and a level, you still do not need another person to help you with this. If you are working alone, I actually am not sure how you clad the house without these. I'm sure you would have to fabricate something similar. Even working with another person, I found these to be amazing. Have the other guy be cut man on the ground, and keep sending you up pieces that you set perfectly each time without having to re-measure.

Great Idea That Works

Being a professional Carpenter I highly recommend these for production weatherboards. They really do make a difference and speed things up. Id say the company's estimate of saving half the time during labor is conservative, and your accuracy is 100% with these clamps.

Real time saver that works easily and well

I'll never go back... this allowed me to install weatherboards on my 12x18 sqm shed all by myself, and get a very consistent look. I'd use them even if there were 2+ people working together just to get the consistent spacing. Pros that might not be obvious you can secure these with just one hand, from an odd angle, and not much force, they clamp easily. If you need to modify spacing temporarily (to make a piece fit perfectly at a border, or like me, if you accidentally started two rows at slightly different height) these will clamp at any position, the weatherboard does not have to rest against the "stop" - so you can clamp in place at any spacing. There is no friction against the finish side - these have a little mat that stays fixed and the cam pushes that against the finish side of the weatherboard.

Great set of clamps to help set weatherboards!!

These things are INCREDIBLE!!!! They work great and make siding go so much easier. If you are going to use them on more than one job. These truly make it to where (after the first row) one person can hang Scyon weatherboards!
